Today is my birthday and that is my age.
Hmmmm.
It is too weird.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. Really.
Now, however, I understand my mother. She once shared a ritual that she would perform occasionally when she got older (she must have been around 70 at the time). I recommend it highly.
Stand in front of the mirror. Lean in. Stare deeply into your own eyes. And whisper, "Are you still in there?".
Oh, yes. I am.

Oh I just love that... on occasion I see Dad staring back at me... I was engaged to say my age out loud today twice... I had to check myself. My first reply is always 18 as I drift off into a dream like state. Then reality calls and I bark out my real age..."I'm on the 30th anniversary of my 21st year!" Then my knees and shoulder speak up from the peanut gallery... Happy Birthday Judi Love you! Jay

Ah, Judi, I'm just catching up with your wonderful posts! I have a little quote on my fridge "Peace is when time doesn't matter as it passes by." Maria Schnell (I have no idea who this is - but I find the quote profound.) Especially these days as we all feel such pressure to "live our best lives" and other such exhortations.
